Rigor is an education buzzword that is used quite frequently and typically surrounding high-order thinking and Bloom's Taxonomy. The Quad-D Rigor and Relevance Framework illustrates another piece of the engagement puzzle, which is how relevant the content is to the student. The relevance of activities and/or content is a critical aspect of creating an engaging classroom experience that is often overlooked. For teachers to continue providing valuable learning opportunities that benefit students and prepare them to apply traits and develop transferable skills, we need to master the shift to creating engaging, relevant classroom instruction.
